Vice President of Economic Development

Onsite – Aurora, Illinois

The newly formed Aurora Regional Economic Alliance (Alliance) officially launched on January 31, 2025. The Alliance represents an exciting new chapter for the community of Aurora, Illinois where the Alliance will drive workforce development, empower small, minority, and women-owned businesses, and fuel innovation and entrepreneurship in the Aurora community. We are a small organization looking to make a big impact!

We are currently looking for a Vice President of Economic Development who will report to our President & CEO. In this role, you will be responsible for interfacing with economic development and commercial development stakeholders across the Aurora region. This also includes business attraction and recruitment of companies to the city of Aurora and supporting the retention and expansion of existing Aurora area companies.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has existing relationships with key economic development partners in Illinois and even in the Aurora region (a big plus!). Our ideal candidate will be very familiar with economic development, the site selection process, and office and industrial real estate.

Are you qualified? Here is what we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree or studies in urban planning, economics, real estate, finance, business, public policy or related field is required. Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience. (lead generation, sales, research, GIS, real estate, or economic development experience)
• Proven experience as a dynamic public speaker.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers and presentations.

In addition to making a big impact on the community of Aurora staff and business owners, the Alliance is also offering a competitive annual salary of $100,000- $120,000 and the following benefits.
